Sidewalk Life

Completely Wrong and Uncool

Gawker has video of a cop body checking a cyclist off his bike at Friday's Critical Mass ride.  A surprising lack of concern for the cyclists health demonstrated by Gawker readers in the comments section.  The Police department smartly pulled the cops badge and gun according to the Times.

Less Is Not Always More

Maybe they should spring for a few more stick on letters to explain what they do.  Before I googled them, I had a completely different idea about what what was inside the van.

Back from Vacation, No Change in New York

Looks like the fire hydrant outside my apartment is still leaking water after four weeks.

1541 Eagleman Badge

Photo_060907_004_3 Eagleman 70.3 half-ironman was last weekend down in Cambridge Maryland.

I finished, and in respectable time:  5:15.

It was a really nice surprise having my name printed on the bike rack.

Usually, they just put your race number on the end of a long rack and let you fight for space with everybody else.  This was so much more controlled and personal.

Madison Wisoconsin

I'm in Madison Wisconsin today.  They're excited about the Packers early pick in the NFL draft.

And apparently concerned about corrupt kids.

Photo_042707_013

Named after James Madison, our 4th President.  I didn't know that.

Photo_042707_007

An interesting college town with German roots and a progressive bent.

Of course, it wouldn't be Wisconsin without some reference to cheese.

Photo_042707_091

They seem to have a good arts and music scene.

And are home to a man with a special talent, evidently.  I didn't find out.

Sunscreen Is A Good Thing

Photo_042207_011

This is what happens when you go for a three hour bike ride the first hot, sunny day of the spring.  You get sun sleeves.

Testing to Destruction

Lets_test_it_2I took this photo at an agency where I once worked.

I never found out whether the author was serious or making some reference to Alan Hedges.

I hoped for the latter.
