Little Brother Society

Contrary to Orwell's predictions, the future (in the west anyway) hasn't become dominated by Big Brother totalitarian states using technology to spy on and control its citizens.

Instead, inexpensive, miniaturized and connecting technology has created a Little Brother Society where the masses are outfitted with cameras and are ready and willing to record, report and snitch on each other and the government.   

I heard the term Little Brother Society for the first time today in a story about the Snitch Society on NPR.  I thought it was great.
